This one-day event will feature lectures from university academics on a variety of topics within Italian history from 1830–1946. It will provide up to date academic knowledge on key topics within this period of Italian history for both courses on the Risorgimento and Liberal and Fascist Italy and ways this information could be presented to students. 

  • Who is the event aimed at?

    This event is aimed especially at teachers of Italian history at A-level, for courses on the Risorgimento and Liberal and Fascist Italy. It is also suitable for Key Stage 3 or GCSE teachers of Italian history and Italian language teachers who cover this topic in their course, as well as trainee teachers and others with an interest in Italian history education.

  • What are the learning outcomes?

    This event will enable you to:

    • - Develop your subject knowledge of Italian history in the 19th and 20th centuries
    • - Reflect on how to present these histories to your students
    • - Connect with academic historians to discuss how universities can support your teaching of Italian history
  • What does it cost?

    The event is free to attend and generously supported by the Association for the Study of Modern Italy.
