The alienation of minority groups in East London during the Blitz
A well-presented podcast challenging the notion of the spirit of unity during World War II.
The alienation of minority groups in East London during the Blitz
What was the Blitz spirit? What was the role of People of Colour in the Blitz? How did the government respond to their marginalisation?
Throughout this podcast, our host is joined by four University of York students, who will help answer these questions. Through utilising the East End of London as a case study, we will take you on a whistle-stop tour of the marginalised communities of London during the Blitz. In doing so, we hope to shed light on their stories, and give you the tools to diversify the history that you teach.
