Move Me On 99: Struggling with just about everything
Teaching History feature
This Issue's Problem: Sophie Scholl, PGCE Student. is experiencing very seious difficulties...in just about everything.
Problem:
Sophie is approaching the end of her second school placement. It was clear from her first placement report that she was finding the process of learning to teach extremely difficult, but she displayed a determination to succeed and a willingness to work hard. In the first few weeks of the new placement she seemed to be making progress, recognising, for example, the need to give her lessons a clear structure and to plan in advance for sections of teacher explanation or questioning. After these initial steps forward, however, she has made little, if any, progress.
