HA Annual Conference 2013
York, 10-11 May 2013
Presidential Lecture: Professor Jackie Eales
How glorious was Gloriana? Elizabeth I and her historians
Saturday Lecture: Marc Morris - The Norman Conquest
Marc presented the TV series Castle and wrote the accompanying book. Marc's talk will be based on his new book, The Norman Conquest, which goes beyond the familiar outline to explain why England was so powerful and yet so vulnerable.
Following on from the success of our 2012 Conference in Reading we have booked the Park Inn Hotel on the banks of the River Ouse in York for 2013. We will be putting the programme together over the next couple of months. The Conference will include a wide range of secondary and primary workshops, talks from leading historians, visits and walks around beautiful and historic York and heritage workshops from a variety of museums and archives plus the chance to peruse resources in our growing resources exhibition.
The Reading Conference was full to capacity and it was great to see so many members there from all walks of HA life. Podcasts from some of the sessions will shortly be available on the website.
