Questionnaire and Focus Group

Dear teachers, my name is Lindsay Janssen and I am an instructor at Radboud University (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) and researcher part of ‘Heritages of Hunger,’ a research project funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) which investigates the role and meaning of European periods of hunger in the education and heritage sectors.

We would like to gain insight concerning the ways in which the Great Irish Famine of 1845-50 is incorporated in current teaching; would you be willing to help us by filling in this questionnaire?

Filling in the questionnaire will take about ten minutes. We will use your input to develop comparative digital educational materials about periods of hunger, as well as a database with primary (historical) sources, which will be made freely available for teachers and learners.

Additionally, we would like to invite you to participate in our focus group of European teachers. This focus group shares its experiences and needs with the project, and tests and/or provides feedback on our digital educational materials. Should you be interested in participating, please contact me at lindsay.janssen@ru.nl

Many thanks in advance and kind regards,

Dr Lindsay Janssen
