Making history accessible

My students struggle with...

Every student has an entitlement to learn history and to high quality history teaching. In this section you will find support for helping students who struggle with specific aspects of learning history.

For each aspect of learning history that students struggle with you will find:

  • A short A4 guide which explains why pupils struggle with this aspect of historical learning, an outline of strategies that can help to tackle the issue over time, and suggestions for further reading.
  • A short film to accompany the guide where an experienced colleague further explains the topic in a specific context.

In this section you will also find to other helpful resources – from the HA and other organisations  to help you to help all students to find history accessible.

This resource is FREE for Secondary HA Members.

HA Members can sign in to access this content or you can Join the HA if you are not already a member.
