What questions should the children be able to answer at the end of your teaching of the topic? Pare this down to 6 key questions, one for each lesson of a 6-week term. What sub-questions will the lesson address and open up for the next step in the learning journey? For example, on a topic on the Victorians:

Key question: What do we know about Victorian schools?

Sub-questions: Who went to school? What was it like? What did they learn? What did they wear? What did they play? What happened to children who did not go to school?
