Statements about education and what is taught in schools are going to be made over the next few months by people whose knowledge of it is probably out of date, anecdotal and with political motivations. The only way that we can demonstrate an accurate view of what is happening in UK schools and present the best options for the future is if we have the evidence.

Education is something of which we all have first-hand experience, but it is ever-changing and evolving. That is why the Historical Association (HA) monitors the status of history education as an essential part of its remit.
