Not For The Faint Of Heart

Review by Daniela, 14 Dixons Unity Academy
Not For the Faint of Heart by Lex Croucher is a witty and charming novel that blends in with historical romance with sharp humour and biting social commentary. Set in Regency England, the story follows Georgina, a young woman who navigates the complicated social dynamics at high society while grappling with her own desires and ambitions. The narrative is fast-paced and filled with clever dialogue, making it an engaging and entertaining read.

This book is also an excellent way of examining the class system and societal expectations of the time, all while remaining accessible and humorous. Croucher’s writing is sharp, funny and often full of unexpected twist that keep the reader on their toes. Her use of humour adds and extra layer of depth to the story, making it more than just a typical historical romance.

I would 100% recommend!

Review by Jerome, Year 10, The Kingston Academy
Yes, I loved Not for Faith of Heart because it combined an emotional story with excellent historical accuracy. The author's writing was vivid, and the characters were very realistic. I liked how the author made me feel connected to the struggles of people from another time. The drama, romance, and historical suspense in the story kept me interested throughout.
