Review by Amelia, Year 5, The Cathedral School of St Peter and St John
This was an amazing book, and I absolutely loved it. It was set during World War 2, which made it even more interesting to read. My favourite character was Rosie because she was the bravest one, and I really admired her courage. I learned that the war was terrible, which made me think more deeply about history. The plot was a mix of exciting, thought-provoking, and serious moments. The part that stood out the most to me was Chapter 28. I would recommend this book to other pupils because it has a lot of facts about the war and is a great way to learn while reading an adventure. There was nothing I didn’t like about the book, I enjoyed every part of it!
Review by Ava, Year 7, Thurston Community College
The book was interesting because it was based in World War 2 and it was mainly about spies and code breaking and in most World War 2 books it is about fighting. My favourite character is the girl because she is only young and yet she has been in lots of secret missions, and she is very bold and brave, and she reminds me of my bff. I would recommend this book to other students because it is very adventurous and involves missions and code breaking.
