My Brother Plato

Review by Ammennah, 10, Orchard Fields Community School
I enjoyed reading this book because there were lots of twists in it, also I found it interesting to learn that girls could not go to school for example Potone couldn’t go to school whilst Plato could. I liked learning about Athena (the Greek Goddess) as I like to know about ancient history and the Greeks. I think this book would have been better if it had included pictures so I could visualise what was going on. I found it easy to read overall but there were some words that I didn’t know the meaning of therefore I would recommend it to children aged 7 or above. I would also recommend this book to someone who likes Greek history as they will learn a lot from this book.

I love how Patone is really cool, and she stands up for herself, her brother and her dog. It made me feel like girls can do anything! My favourite character was Nico because she has so much going on. I would describe this book as Greek girl power! I would recommend it to children eight years and up who like the Greeks and history. Also, someone who likes adventure. I would give this book five out of five stars.
