The Last Boy

Review by Matilda, aged 8, Garstang St Thomas Primary School
It was all about a boy called Brewster he was supposed to be called a wizard in the book, but his life got swept away. He got sold to a cruel master sweep he had to risk his life. He predicted a terrible storm of stars and then a woman came to make his wish come true, he wanted to become the last climbing boy ever and she would help make that dream come true if Brewster did something in return. Overall, I thought it was very complicated for a year 3 to understand the plot and I read this all by myself, but the story was really fun, and I like the magical side of it. I would recommend this book.

Review by Younus, Year 7, Claremont High School
The book [the last boy] was wonderful overall and so juicy with detail and effort with many key parts that stunned me with resilience and wonderous story writing that I hope goes on with the rest of your books.

When I read the blurb at the back I saw a spectacular story that showed me how great the story would turn out to be true and unlike some other books, the front cover uncovered the truth of the book and made me want to read more of your books like the chestnut roaster or else time.

Thank you for your time of reading this book and thank you Eve Mc Donnell for writing this book.
