The Time Machine Next Door

Review by Ellis, 9, Orchard Fields Community School
I liked the book, it was funny and interesting because it teaches you a lot about the past, for example they travel far into the past and saw Queen Elizabeth, which was interesting because she wasn’t queen just yet. Alex was the best character in the book because every time Sunil would say something is wrong, Alex would say, ‘It’s fine’ she was a happy character. Also, Kiwi the pet was a funny character because it was naughty when it was sitting on tennis balls. The story was exciting because the little pet would always change emotions when it didn’t have a tennis ball. I would recommend that other children read this book because it is interesting, funny and exciting.

It was a marvelous book. It has a lot of great facts about historical people including Rosa Parks, Genghis Khan, King Henry VIII and more. I think the appropriate age is 7 and above. Enjoy reading!
