Stone Age Clash

Review by Borys, Year 6, The Cathedral School of St Peter and St John
I enjoyed the mix of fact and fiction, which made it both fun and educational. The book was set in both the present and different times of the Stone Age, which made it interesting to read. My favourite character was Thomas because he was adventurous and brave. My least favourite character was Bracken because nothing exciting really happens when he's around, so he felt a bit boring. I learned that sabre-toothed tigers appeared about 2 million years ago and died out around 10,000 years ago. The plot was interesting and serious, with lots of exciting moments. The part that stood out the most was when Thomas was pulling a stone for Stonehenge, it was really cool! I would recommend this book to other pupils because it's fun and you can learn a lot. I also learned new words like "Homo sapiens" and "Neanderthal." There was nothing I didn’t like about the book.

Review by Nicolas (Age 10), St Andrew’s CE Primary, Headington
This book has interesting vocabulary, it has Gods and Goddesses, and it felt so interesting. Thomas was my favourite character because he’s hardworking and nice. Three words I would use to describe this book are: exciting, teamwork and weapons. I would recommend it to any children learning about the stone age at school.
