History and the Literacy Hour

Amid fears of history being lost from the Key Stage One curriculum, following suspension of the statutory orders, research which considered the use of historical story as part of the Literacy hour, was carried out by Paula Silvera, a final year BEd student at Newman College of Higher Education, to determine which Key Elements of the history curriculum could be addressed outside designated ‘history’ lessons.
