In this film, Professor Matt Cook explains that the History of Sexuality has earned its place in academia. He address that there are voices in society and politics who question its right and authenticity, however, the best way to enter into those debates is to have informed arguments. History can provide those arguments and challenge the lack of respect or simplicity of some voices. He explains how an informed debate on these matters is so important at a time when flimsy sound bites can do so much damage to individuals and their rights.
