Welcome to the autumn 2022 edition of HA News magazine
Your membership magazine
This autumn 2022 edition of HA News looks at the theme 'moving forward' by centring on an the HA's new Strategy for 2022-25. We also look ahead to the HA Annual Conference 2023 with an exciting keynote announcement, and opportunities for you to get involved in our Governing Council and standing committees.
Stephen Bourne talks about his experience of writing his ground-breaking book Black Poppies; we have two 'What got me into history's, from award-winning children's historical fiction author Ally Sherrick and retired medical microbiologist Patrick J Pead, and we offer an outline of David Olusoga's brilliant 2022 Medlicott lecture. This edition also details the winners of our 2022 Young Quills and Great Debate competitions, as well as the recipients of this year's Honorary Fellowships, alongside all the usual updates from 59a and upcoming branch dates for your diary.
We hope you will enjoy this edition. If you have any ideas for future HA activities or articles you would like to contribute to HA News, we'd love to hear from you on enquiries@history.org.uk.
