The Old and the New
In this section we cover the period of time from the fifth century to the late-fifteenth. The range includes podcasts, articles and publications by academics and specialists from across the UK and the world. Covering such a wide time period does not meant that the materials and items here are brief; instead there are some pieces that focus on minute detail and others that will challenge you with their breadth of understanding and delivery. This period ranges from the familiar, with the Norman Conquest, Magna Carta and Richard III to less well-known people, societies and events such as the Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates or the origins of the European financial markets.
