Hever History Festival
19-21 September 2025, Hever Castle, Kent

This year the Historical Association is delighted to be attending the Hever History Festival on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 September.
Following the success of last year’s first ever History Festival at Hever Castle, the festival now has twice the number of events programmed with more for history lovers to enjoy. The festival opens on Friday 19 September with Tracy Borman’s talk ‘The Stolen Crown’ and Luke Pepera’s talk ‘Motherland: A journey through African Culture.’
Each event is a double-bill, with two talks given by two or more historians all taking place in in the theatre of the award-winning gardens at Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. Visitors can enjoy the castle gardens between events or book a joint castle gardens and theatre ticket to enjoy the estate for longer.
Audiences will experience a captivating journey through one of the most dramatic and transformative periods in British history. This year’s focus is on the Tudor and Stuart eras, spanning the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries with a wonderful line up of historians and authors delivering engaging talks, Q and A’s, and book signings.
The festival offers a unique opportunity to explore the people, power struggles, and cultural shifts that shaped the modern world. Whether you’re a lifelong history enthusiast or newly curious about this fascinating era, come and be inspired, informed, and thoroughly entertained.
