The Holderness Coast, the land that came and went

Event Type: Branch

Takes Place: 14th May 2026

Time: 7.30

Venue: Nordic Centre Osborne St. Hull HU1 2PN

Description: The Humber Estuary has given the land an ever changing coast line over millennia. Silt brought down by the rivers became valuable land, only later to be swept seaward. How settlements were built up and prospered - even became trading centres, then gradually were flooded and disappeared literally, is the ground of human stories. Come to this talk, learn where you can explore, and you will be fascinated.
