Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are and contact details

The Historical Association (HA) is an independent charity largely funded through membership subscriptions and our academic publishing. The objects for which the Association was established are to advance the study and teaching of history.

Our address is The Historical Association, 59a Kennington Park Road, London, SE11 4JH, England (phone +44(0)207 735 3901 fax +44(0)207 582 4989, e-mail: membership@history.org.uk ). Our offices are open from 9.30am to 5.30pm (UK local time) Monday to Friday, except for public holidays.

2. Scope

These terms and conditions apply to all transactions entered into with the HA for the supply of goods and services. Membership subscriptions are however specifically excluded from the scope of these terms and conditions, except where the HA invoices an institution for a Corporate membership subscription in response to the receipt of an official purchase order.

3. Prices

The HA reserves the right to change prices without prior notification.

4. Tax Charges

Please note that some items we sell are subject to VAT, e.g. membership and all online resources.

5. Delivery

Subject to stock availability, your resources will normally be despatched within 14 days of receipt of the order.

6. Product Availability

All orders are subject to availability.

7. Claims

Any discount discrepancies, title shortages or damage to goods should be reported within 14 days of receipt of invoice/goods. Please call our Customer Services on the above number.

8. Cancelling Orders

You can cancel any item from your order, provided that it has not entered the despatch process. Please call our Customer Services on the above number.

9. Refund & Returns Policy

For all online transactions with the Historical Association customers have the right to cancel their order within 7 days of the date of the contract or the receipt of the goods (whichever is the longer). In the event of an order cancellation customers may request to have their payment refunded in full.

If the order cancellation involves the return of goods already supplied to a customer, then the goods in question will need to be returned to the Historical Association (HA) at 59a Kennington Park Road, London, SE11 4JH. Goods should be returned to the HA in their original (‘mint') condition and within 30 days of their original receipt. The HA will then, upon request, issue you either with a credit note or a refund to the equivalent value of your original order. If sending goods back to the HA please state your reason for their return and please also ensure that any packaging or seals remain unbroken. Customers will be responsible for the cost of returning goods for refund or exchange except in cases where faulty, damaged or wrongly specified goods have been supplied by ourselves, in which case the HA will supply you with a postage pre-paid label for the return of the goods.
