Official Guide to Black History Month

October is Black History Month.Sugar Media produce the Official Guide to Black History Month, and this year they have produced a teachers pack for Key Stage 3. It focuses on some of the lesser-known Black experiences. The pack includes Sarah Forbes Bonetta, an ex-slave whose eldest daughter became Queen Victoria's god-daughter with an extraordinary story to tell; Jean Baptiste Belley, who helped persuade the French Convention to abolish slavery before dying in a French prison; and several ‘ordinary people' of the Windrush generation. Very professionally produced - with commercial-quality DVD, A4 size photographs and prompt cards, as well as an A1 poster, the pack contains lesson plans and detailed suggestions appropriate for KSt3 pupils to use alone and in groups. An excellent package to purchase if you are looking for good educational materials to use during BHM. http://www.sugarmedia.co.uk/ or [t] 020 7407 7747.
