The Round Table and Conference are FREE, but you need to book tickets in advance by emailing Nicole Bea:  nicole.bea@diplomatie.gouv.fr

The specially created web site gives more details of the London commemoration of General de Gaulle's 18 June 1940 appel on BBC radio.

The list of guest speakers is crammed with distinguished names in this field with several respected historians and resistance veterans coming specially from France.

Anyone with particular interest in SOE should note the Thursday morning session on "Organising Resistance In France" which will be chaired by Prof Rod Kedward and  the speakers include Prof M.R.D. FootMark Seaman and Stéphane Hessel.
The schedule and all speaker details for the 16-17th can be downloaded from the web site and, with the exception of the film on the Thursday evening, those events are 'gratuit' - courtesy of the French Embassy and the British Academy - but you need to book tickets by emailing Nicole Bea:  nicole.bea@diplomatie.gouv.fr

There will also be a season of Resistance films at the French Institute's Ciné Lumière - these will be listed very shortly on  and also on the cinema's pages of the institute's web site where they will be bookable.

Please check the web site from time to time because additional info will be added between now and the events; and if you need any more information by all means contact Dr Matthew Cobb - cobb@manchester.ac.uk ... or Martyn Cox bientrouve@mac.com
